Spreading Good Vibes at the Quartier Community Block Party

By Sportira

It takes a special group of people to make a neighborhood feel like “home”. Folks that come up with fun events that reach out to young people and inspire all members of the community. That’s why Sportira is so proud to contribute to last year’s Quartier Block Party with La Rue Inspire. They are a creative collective passionate about community-building, storytelling, and raising awareness through the arts. Their initiatives have created priceless memories for many people throughout Montreal, and we were glad to be part of it.

Quartier’s Block Party: Good Mood, Good Food, Good Company

La Rue Inspire in partnership with Leaders Basketball hosted an awesome neighborhood Block Party on August 20, 2023, at Lefebvre Park in Lasalle. From 1 am to 8 pm, there were great activities that brought together the community and the arts.

Some of the main highlights included basketball games with celebrity host Nate Husser, fitness challenges (with prizes for the winners), local acts performing live music, kid-friendly activity stations, and free portraits by photographer Naskademini. Local restaurants also set up shop and served delicious meals for the whole community.

And—being a La Rue Inspire event—there was a giveaway component as well. There were free haircuts for the kids, plus back-to-school essentials and other fun prizes.

Sponsored by Sportira, Ball Her Way, and Montreality

Sportira donated 120 sublimated basketball uniforms and referee jerseys that everybody rocked during the basketball games. We produced three colourways for the Girls’ Team, Boys’ Team, and All-Stars’. Our joint efforts definitely helped the players and the fans feel more connected to the games, and the community.

High-Quality Uniforms by Sportira

These cool custom uniforms are the result of our client’s talented graphic designer who conceptualized the team uniforms and laid out the design assets to make sure the agency’s idea became a reality. Our production team then brought the idea to life, and it was great to see these stylish uniforms on the court.

We use a technique called sublimation printing, a cutting-edge technology that supports our clients’ most creative designs. Anything you come up with on a computer, we can print through sublimation. It's one of our many strengths versus traditional methods like screen printing.

Creating Core Community Memories

This impactful initiative from La Rue Inspire started during the pandemic and will last for many years to come. We’re excited to see how these block parties will grow as the community does, and we look forward to joining again the next time!
